About
Danielle Gonzales

Welcome. I started Insightful Therapy to support and empower children, parents, and women in their journey. I view each person as a whole and strive to understand how life experiences influence areas of struggle—including childhood, messages from culture, current stressors, relationship experiences, and all other aspects of life. We will explore your past and current relationships because I believe that those relationships hold insights into you or your child. My clients and colleagues describe me as having a calm presence with a balance of playfulness and insightfulness.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and Play Therapist who specializes in working with children. I have helped parents navigate parenting challenges and aided children to understand and communicate their world—and together strengthened the child-parent relationship and reduced areas of concern.

My approach

My approach is highly relational and client-led because you and your child already bring so much to the table. Together we will discuss ways to meet your needs and goals in therapy. I may also propose strategies to build on the strengths you or your child already possess. And because the quality of our relationship is so important to the process, I will ask for your feedback about our sessions and your experience of the therapy process.

My knowledge of family systems, attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, humanistic approach, Play Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy will aid you in understanding you or your child’s experiences and assist in your healing process. At times it may be helpful to discuss and provide information about how the brain and body influence areas of concerns and empower you with understanding. I utilize Sand Tray Therapy in my work with individuals of all ages. Sand Tray Therapy is an approach that is expressive in nature and does not rely on solely verbal communication to process experiences, gain insights, and heal.
